Mind Up Programme
Being Mindful -
Paying attention
Practice for 30 seconds. Head down, eyes shut, focus on your breathing. Notice, Notice, Notice.
Passing the pen from one to the other. First time was slower than the second time. Neurons are making connections. The first time is sometimes hard, the more we practice the easier it gets.
Deep Belly Breathing
Put your hand on your tummy. feel your hand moving up and down slowly as you breathe.
Breathing will make the connection between your pre frontal cortext reconnect when you have flopped your lid.
Really important to practice.
OUTCOMES
being happy
better sleep
control anger
better memory
less worrying
better friendships
being calm

Unison Visit
Today Ethan from Unison came to visit us to talk about electricity.
He showed us where we can find electricity - power lines and power boxes.
What uses electricity - T.V, devices, fridges, microwaves, heaters, lights, vacuum cleaners.
Why is electricity dangerous? Because it can travel through you and give you a shock.
What happens when electricity travels through a person? Your heart stops pumping, it can be hard to breathe and it can burn you really badly on the inside and the outside of your body. Sometimes you can't let go.
Where does electricity want to travel? The ground. If it can it can travel through you to get to the ground.
How fast does electricity travel? Seven times in one second.
How do we stay safe around electricity?

- Stay away from power boxes. Don't sit on them! Don't poke them with a stick!
- What do you do if the power box is open? Stay away from it and call Unison
